Dear Future recipients, My name is Kiki R and I am a Year 6 student in Glenbrook Public School, I would like to talk about the time in Covid-19 and what happened. COVID-19 was very tedious, people were hoarding the shelves in stores for toilet paper. We had to stay inside for an extended amount of time, A Lot of people recovered but most people sadly didn't. Many Things were cancelled until further notice. It was a very hard time for a lot of people. In this time there were a lot of new things made by the Government like we couldn’t go outside, only for things like food and essential’s, And only a small number of people can be in houses. You’d also get a fine if you're driving around when you're not supposed to, or breaking the Law restrictions.

Dear Future Students, My name is Robert C. I am 11 yrs old & I’m a Year 6 at Glenbrook Public School NSW. COVID-19 was the craziest thing that happened to me in primary school. It was very annoying😡😡. The COVID-19 experience has shown me that Pandemics are hard to live through. It caused lots of problems like the toilet paper shortage where everyone went crazy for toilet paper. It has been hard on people who work because they lose their jobs or can’t go to work because of COVID. It also means they get paid less. I feel sorry for everyone who has had to experience this because it was really harsh and unfair but we definitely will eventually find a vaccine and things will go back to normal. At least we have been able to get out and exercise while being at home. I have been able to see my friends on facetime, zoom, and when playing Minecraft. Another thing is that while we were at home we had school online which was good and bad. It was good because it didn’t take much time to do stuff and you could do whatever you want at recess or lunch and get to spend more time with family but was bad because I couldn't interact with anyone in my class and see my friends. I didn’t get the feel of being in a classroom like you would get. It was also really easy to get distracted at. COVID wasn’t the only bad thing that happened because there were also bad fires. This year has been quite a rollercoaster for everyone because of things happening but I know things will calm down at one point or another and things will be normal.

Dear Future Self, My name is Ty and I am a Year 6 student at Glenbrook Public School now you're probably wondering what life was like during the COVID-19 crisis in 2020. Now there were three main stages to this pandemic. Firstly everyone was sent into lockdown with not much notice, people started to panic and bulk buy things like toilet paper and quite soon stores were low on stock and nobody knew what to do. Secondly People were starting to understand what they had to do and everyone started doing school work from home. It was still very stressful because people were still dying and everyone was in quarantine. Nobody could meet in large gatherings and people could not see the elderly, some children were coming back to school 1 to 2 days a week and now kids could meet with their friends. Thirdly Everyone was now coming back to school and people could gather in larger groups as the death rate was slowly going down, friends could catch up and family could now see each other so now we are slowly easing restrictions and trying to go back to normal. Some interstate travel was now allowed so people could get back to their jobs or get home. Now this has affected so many people mentally and physically it has infected over 5 million people and over 2 million have recovered. Sadly over 350 thousand people have died. So hopefully now you know what life was like during the coronavirus in 2020

Dear Future Self, My name is SofiaK and I am a Year 6 student at Glenbrook public school. I am writing to you to tell you about what it was like during the COVID19 period. It was a very interesting time to be in. During the period we had a lock down where all of the students had to do home school and nearly all of the shop shelves were empty! Everyone was rushing to the shops to take as much toilet paper and hand sanitiser as they could, so the Shops had to put a limit on how much you could buy. And also schooling from home is not easy (especially if you have siblings) But it was not all that bad we did get to bond with our family members, my dad was home (and still is) but the thing is that he is usually at work so we don't really get to see him that much so having him working from home was amazing! Another good thing was the fact that we got to be with our pets more because we were all at home so me and our rabbit got to play and be together more and it turns out that she loves to be patted on the nose and she hates being patted on the back. Me and my mum tried to do a walk everyday but it didn't work. We just sat down and started our work so we were really lazy in the home school period. But me and my friend Holly N had lots of playdates and we set up a Minecraft world so we could play together when we were at home!! So that is what it was like in the COVID19 period. I hope you enjoyed it!!!

Dear Future Self, I am Holly N, a 12 Year old year 6 student of Glenbrook public school. I am writing to tell you what it was like living through Covid 19. First of all I wasn't allowed to share food or my school supplies with anyone at all. But it got a lot worse, Friday the 13th of March was my last day of school. My parents pulled me out of school for over 2 months and i had to do home school which was horrible. I wasn't allowed to go to the shops or hang out with friends or go to art class, I was completely isolated. The shelf's in the supermarkets were empty, everything was gone, especially toilet paper. Everyone was obsessed with buying toilet paper that the stores had to put a limit on how much toilet paper you bought which was ridiculous. Everyone bought hand sanitizer and baby wipes even if they didn't have a baby in their house, a lot of the mothers with babies couldn't buy baby wipes and had to drive hours to find some. Thousands of kids did home school and I'm pretty sure most of them will agree that it was not fun. It was a hassle, and you couldn't ask your teacher for help straight away. You had to text and wait for hours or days to get your answer. It was hard for the teachers too so i do understand why we had to wait for the answer. Today is my 4th day back at school and i'm happy to be back! I have no idea what the future will bring, but live life the way it is even if it's not great.

Dear Future people, I am Cooper from Year 6 COVID-19 is a big disease that is currently going around This virus has caused everyone to stay inside and try their best to not touch their own face. Another problem was that most people were saving up toilet paper which was bad because people would look for toilet paper and there would be none on the shelf so some people had to try another store far away from home. The virus has made people stay away from each other at least 6 feet apart. We still managed to talk to each other through video calls and people did school work and their meetings online. It was important that people had gloves or hand sanitizer or a face mask so everyone could stay safe. Some parties were cancelled and more hopefully scientists find a vaccine for the coronavirus soon.

Dear Future Self, I am Lucy and I am in Year 6 at Glenbrook Public School and I’m currently 11 turning 12. 2019 is when COVID 19 started, since week 7 of term 1 2020 I have been stuck inside with my family but in week 5 of term 2 I came back to school. During these times I have felt tired, sleepy and exhausted, but also I thought it was quite nice spending time with the family. Working from home has been pretty easy going. With everyone working it's been very quiet and I get to spend more time with my pets. During this I have missed my family so much, we were only allowed to see two grown ups at a time and as many kids as you want. Whilst corona virus was happening there has been NO toilet paper. I don’t think that it's really an essential but obviously it is to other people. Also nowadays hand sanitiser costs like 20 bucks for only two tiny bottles and soap probably cost more than that for only one bottle. We’ve also had to do social distancing and every time we walk in and out of the library or the classroom we have to sanitise. When corona started I was very scared of it. I didn’t know if my Mum had it, if my Dad had it, my Brother, my Sister. Or even me! But most of all I was so worried about my grandparents because they have a higher chance of getting the coronavirus. My mind had all sorts of worried thoughts. But now I’m sure it's all over. Yours sincerely Lucy Lilly Of 2020

Dear Future Self, COVID-19 has not been fun. My birthday party (TIMEZONE slumber party) never happened. It’s starting to get better though, because we’re back at school and we’re allowed to have playdates. I’ve missed going to Madelyn’s house. Everything still has restrictions, but cafes are opening again too. If cats could spread coronavirus, I wonder if people would put their cats down or shut them up in a separate room and let them get fat from feeding themselves with an open big bag of cat food. It would be sad, because you wouldn’t be able to spend time with them. It hasn’t really been fun, but at least I have my sketchbooks and textas and my mini arcade game. I hope wherever you are, and what you’re doing, it’s good. I managed to go to Madelyn’s house. Crap as it is, these times still have some advantages. Have fun in the future - Abby :3 PS : I also miss Nana and Papou.

Dear Future Students: I’m Jakie coming from Glenbrook and today I will inform you about the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 changed a lot of our lives in many ways today, I Will explain the three stages of COVID-19 To start off COVID-19 begun when I was only 11 at this time I lived in a small town called Glenbrook on the far west of NSW With my Family and Friends. In the start, the restrictions weren’t too big we could still go outside exercise shop every 5 days or so And we were much freer to do things that we were used to doing. The second stage was just long boring and extremely weird for all of us for a number of reasons. First of all the most random things started to go out of stock such as Noodles, Popcorn, Chips and even Toliet Paper. There was nothing to do it was youtube, exercising, or playing a lot of Video-Games. We also had to start online learning, we would wake up at 9 AM every day get on our computers and complete the work our teacher had assigned us. We would have a daily plan and have to complete it in the correct order as assigned. COVID-19 had a large effect on all of us though it mostly impacted the older people. COVID-19 doesn’t affect kids as much as older people. The reason being there bodies were not as developed as ours. So if you had to go through a tragic time like this what would you do. Panic or would you stay calm or would you panic ???

Dear Future Student/Recipient, Hello Students/Recipient my name is Joey.M a student in Glenbrook Public School in the class 6L this year has been the worst 2 years ever for Australia first we had the Drought then we had the bushfires but the bushfires got better when it started to rain but even that rain was bad because 2 days later there was floods and when we thought it couldn't get any worse coronavirus came in (COVID-19). COVID-19 has been terrible in my opinion because we couldn't see our friends and we couldn't go anywhere.first COVID-19 wasn't that big of a deal but things just went downhill. The first thing that was happening was everyone was panic buying there was no toilet paper, pasta, soap, milk or bread. All the schools were shutting down. It wasn't until late march that our school shut down. So the school started online learning. At first we thought it would be fun but… IT WAS TORTURE picture this in your head stuck inside the house with three siblings shouting at each other parents telling us off and not even being able to go out of the house it was pain. The online learning was hard although the teachers made it easier. They were really good, especially my teacher since he is the tech expert. I wanted to see my friends really badly but I knew we couldn't go outside. During coronavirus there was something called social distancing u would have to be at least 1.5 meters away from someone and there was an app to say if someone got coronavirus near you it would give you a notification saying stay inside but a lot of people didn't like the because it tracked them so they just didn't download it.
