About

Welcome to The Diary Files

Everyone has a story to share.

The Diary Files collects vignettes from the everyday lives of the people of NSW and beyond.

Tell us what you see, what you feel. Write about the things that matter to you, your observations of people and places around you, or the simple routines of your day. Reflect on what’s happening in your own backyard, in your community and beyond.

You don’t need to be a writer to leave your mark here. You can write 20 words or 500, submit anonymously or use your name. Your entry will become part of The Diary Files, and a permanent record of these times. Over to you.

Sincerely,

The State Library of NSW

Submissions

This website is an open platform for you to write a diary entry, of up to 500 words, on whatever subject you like.

You can submit more than one entry but please use the same email address so we can group the entries by author. Once your diary entry has been approved, you will be sent a link to see it published.

By submitting your diary entry in this platform, you are allowing the State Library of NSW to permanently collect, store and publish your text as part of this online experience, for exhibition and promotional purposes.

We have allowed social sharing on each entry.

All diary entries will be moderated based on the State Library website’s Terms of Use.
