Dear Future Readers,

My name is Eloise K and I am 11 years old and a Year 6 student at Glenbrook Public School. I am writing this letter to talk about my experience of COVID-19. It was a very long journey and I have learnt a lot from this event and I hope you learn something too.

I don’t remember a lot when the Coronavirus started but I remember watching the news and seeing that something was happening in China. The coronavirus came in December 2019 when people began to have symptoms in China. At first I didn't really know what was happening so I didn’t really pay attention. The first confirmed case in Australia was on the 25th of January 2020 in Victoria when a man arrived back after being overseas.Australian borders were closed to non-residents on March 20th and the social distancing rule began on March 21st. The most cases were in New South Wales in Australia.

Lots of things changed because of COVID-19. Our schools closed in late March and we had tasks on Google Classroom.I didn’t not really like doing online school..We started going one day a week which led to us going back everyday but we still had to social distance.I have learnt a lot from this experience such as we cannot predict what will happen in the future and things may just happen that are unpredictable but you just have to adapt. At first I was a little anxious about the situation because everything was happening very fast but as things got calmer and I understood what was happening I wasn’t as anxious.

I hope this text about my experience of COVID-19 has given you an idea about what it was like during this time. Regards Eloise
